AWS Re:invent - Part 1

In November 2022, I had the opportunity to attend the AWS Re:invent event in Las Vegas, and it was an incredible experience. The trip from Paris to Las Vegas was long, with 16 hours of travel and two connections in Montreal and Chicago, but the excitement of attending such a big event kept me going.

I was amazed by Las Vegas, a city that never sleeps and has so much to offer, from the lights and the glitz of the Strip to the natural beauty of the surrounding desert. The event itself was even more impressive, with over 50,000 attendees from all over the world, including CTOs, DevOps, developers, and salespeople.

The conference was very well organized, and I had the chance to attend several talks and workshops on a wide range of topics related to AWS services and solutions. One of the most interesting events I attended was hosted by Riot Games, where they shared their experiences and challenges with managing large-scale online games.

The time difference and jet lag did catch up to me, though, and I found myself falling asleep early in the evenings, missing out on some of the nightlife that Vegas is famous for. But the second day was more relaxed, and I had the chance to explore the different booths and meet some of the people behind the amazing projects and services showcased at the event.

I was particularly impressed by some of the projects focused on ecological sustainability and reducing the carbon footprint of data centers, something that is becoming increasingly important in the world of cloud computing.

Overall, the AWS Re:invent event was an incredible experience, and I'm grateful for the opportunity to attend. In my next article, I will continue my adventure at the conference and share some of the other exciting things I learned and experienced.
